BYE BYE GOP?

• Republican support of ‘Immigration Reform’ good news for populist, conservative alternatives

.The late American nationalist Sam Francis coined the apt and memorable designation “the Stupid Party” to describe the GOP — or at least the patently suicidal so-called leaders of that party who constantly flirted with policies that ran contrary to traditional Republican principles and which directed the party toward self destruction.
No better example of the “stupid” syndrome is found today than S. 744, the Senate immigration bill — purported “reform” — sponsored by the now-infamous Gang of Eight, which included Republican Sens. John McCain (Ariz.), Lindsey Graham (S.C.), Jeff Flake (Ariz.) and Marco Rubio (Fla.) and Democratic Sens. Michael Bennet (Colo.), Dick Durbin (Ill.), Bob Menendez (N.J.) and Chuck Schumer (N.Y.).
Among other things, they want to say “welcome” to young illegal aliens now within our borders and to the children of illegals. And, yes, that’s amnesty — mass legalization of untold numbers.
According to a Congressional Budget Office study, the GOP initiative would introduce perhaps 10 million new voters into the election arena within the next decade and nearly twice that many in roughly double the time.
The bill passed in June 2013 and is currently being vetted in the House by Republican leaders there.
In that regard, multiple reasonably reliable polls— from “liberal” and “conservative” sources and from ostensibly “unbiased” sponsors — indicate these new voters, almost uniformly, for a variety of reasons — economic, cultural, religious and, some would say, though quietly, “racial” — stand opposed to basic conservative Republican principles.
In short, the impending voters are “liberals” who will vote against the GOP in favor of the Democrats. And that could mean the end of the GOP as an effective competitor in many states and as a national political force unable to lock together a presidential victory in the Electoral College.
In years past, critics — forerunners of Sam Francis — called the GOP the “Me-Too Party” because self-styled “moderates” — earlier incarnations of the Gang of Eight — pushed the party to endorse liberal policies, parroting the Democratic Party in what always proved a fruitless bid to win support for the GOP from minorities and a variety of left-wing special interest voting blocs.
So, shouting “me too,” the 21st century non-leaders of the GOP move ever more aggressively toward the inevitable destruction — the suicide — of their own party. To many conservatives, this is a good thing. It may enable those who value the Constitution — and America — to start anew and bid farewell — at long last — to what some are calling “the Stupid Party.”
