.Newsweek is dead. Long live AMERICAN FREE PRESS. That’s right. At the end of 2012, Newsweek — the always reliable (but financially troubled) voice for the
interests of the plutocratic elite — will no longer be published, except online.
First launched in 1933 by a clique of Wall Street money men, Newsweek was merged in 1937 with a journal controlled by W. Averill Harriman (a frontline New World Order advocate in the foreign policy establishment) whose family’s railroad empire was bankrolled by Rothschild-linked financial institutions on American shores.
In 1961 Newsweek was grabbed up by the Washington Post media company of Wall Street war profiteer, Eugene Meyer— an early member of the Federal Reserve System board of governors
and later head of the World Bank — whose extended family included the grand rabbi of France and the owners of the San Francisco-based Levi Strauss garment giant whose heirs comprise one of the world’s largest fortunes.
In her suppressed biography of Meyer’s daughter, Katharine Graham, author Deborah Davis documented that the Post-Newsweek combine “grew up by trading information with the intelligence agencies,” most especially the CIA.
The two publications were, in short, propaganda outlets, a point made clear when they played the pivotal role in “Watergating” President Richard Nixon, at precisely the time Nixon was engaged in a behind-the-scenes struggle with Israel and its allies at the CIA over U.S. Middle East policy. At one point, Nixon even threatened to go public — during his State of the Union address — and expose the intrigues of the Israeli lobby to the American people.
Although two Zionist billionaires — industrialist Sidney Harman and Hollywood kingpin Barry Diller — consecutively bought Newsweek during the last year, they were unable to keep the magazine alive.
All of this cuts to why it is so important AFP readers continue to support our populist weekly — one lone voice countering the media monopoly.
AFP doesn’t — at least not yet — have financial backing from the patriotic millionaires (and billionaires) we know are out there and who are reading AFP. We need your generous support. It’s time you, too, join the ranks of those middle-class folks who support AFP. Help keep AFP doing the important job it does each week. We’re waiting to hear from you. Now. Don’t let AFP end up like Newsweek. Call 1-888-699-6397 to make a donation.
