.Those who want Barack Obama ejected from the White House have an important ally in international socialite and businesswoman Lady Lynn Forester de Rothschild. Mrs. Rothschild is once again exercising her considerable influence in order to direct the course of the 2012 presidential campaign. The American-born wife of Sir Evelyn de Rothschild, Mrs. Rothschild has enthusiastically endorsed GOP presidential hopeful Jon Huntsman Jr., the former two-term governor of Utah and recently retired U.S. ambassador to China.
Although Huntsman is a wealthy man in his own right — he’s the son of billionaire industrialist Jon Huntsman, an international chemical company tycoon who, at one point, was said by Forbes magazine to be the 47th richest American — Mrs. Rothschild also held a fundraiser at her New York home to raise $1.2 million on behalf of Huntsman’s campaign.
Mrs. Rothschild’s endorsement of Huntsman was a not-so-subtle slap at Huntsman’s distant cousin and fellow Mormon, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, generally recognized as the front-runner for the GOP nomination.
Previously, Mrs. Rothschild told Americans living in London who support Romney that they could use her home to host a fundraiser for him. However, after Mrs. Rothschild’s endorsement of Huntsman, coupled with her public comments that Romney had engaged in “flip-flopping” and her allegation that he had “made too many Faustian bargains,” Romney decided to move his fundraiser elsewhere.
Mrs. Rothschild’s endorsement of Huntsman is no surprise. After all, Huntsman was also a member (along with Mrs. Rothschild) of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), the American offshoot of London’s Royal Institute of International Affairs, the Rothschild empire’s foreign-policy-making arm.
Although Huntsman’s name has disappeared from the CFR roster, his internationalist views reflect the globalist outlook of the CFR and its allies such as the Rothschild-connected Bilderberg group. In fact, at the 1998 meeting of Bilderberg in Scotland, Mrs. Rothschild — then president and CEO of FirstMark Holdings, a telecommunications company — was first introduced to her husband-to-be by former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger.
The Huntsman endorsement is not the first foray of Mrs. Rothschild — a lifelong registered Democrat — into Republican politics. Although she was a key fundraiser on behalf of Hillary Clinton in 2008, Mrs. Rothschild endorsed Republican John McCain in the general election over Obama, whom she found too“ideological” — too liberal, that is.
Since that time, Mrs. Rothschild has continued to aim her guns at Obama. Writing for The Daily Beast on Feb. 28, 2010, Mrs. Rothschild said America needed a “militant middle” that would take on Obama and“support sensible policies from both parties.” For his part, Huntsman calls himself a moderate — a “centrist” — and that’s what Mrs. Rothschild and her associates find so appealing about him.
However, as AFP has repeatedly warned its readers in a series of related articles over the past year, the media’s continued hyping of the term “centrist” — as bandied about by Mrs. Rothschild and others in her sphere of influence — appears to be part of a carefully crafted effort to reshape American political affairs in a substantial way.
As AFP explained last December, recognizing growing widespread disgust with both major parties, the elite big money forces seem to be laying the groundwork to usher in a new “centrist” party — a “controlled opposition” under their domination — to block the rise of any genuine populist third party challenging their power.
War-profiteering elites want to be assured that — in the face of growing opposition from Americans on both the “left” and “right” — budget-busting internationalist policies promoting U.S. military adventurism in the Middle East and across the globe — in the name of what is being touted as American “national greatness” — will be preserved.
Although both “liberal Democrats” and “conservative Republicans” have done big money’s bidding for a century, a new “centrist” force — orchestrated by the major media — would shatter the traditional local, state and federal political machines of both major parties that are closely tied to their own respective constituencies (small businesses, farmers, public employees, minorities, factory workers etc). Divorced from grassroots demands, the new “centrist” mechanism would answer only to major media controllers that conjured up this party in the first place.
